The creation of LTG - Topography Laboratory of Geodesy, Topography initially called Office, is as old as the foundation of the Polytechnic School (1894). The founder of the Polytechnic, Antonio Francisco de Paula Souza, developed the topography and introduced new processes in the country as photogrammetry and tacheometry, writing the first book on this subject in Brazil.
